Bright Futures Autumn Update

“Bright Futures” is an exciting new project for Aimhigher Northamptonshire. We have been working with groups of year 5’s in Ruskin Junior, Warwick Primary and Hardwick Junior schools in Wellingborough since May to encourage them to achieve their potential and start to think about what may lie beyond the school gates for them.

The aim of the project is to raise the awareness, aspirations and motivations of students involved. We also want to aid the transition from primary to secondary by increasing students’ confidence and working to prevent barriers to future learning and opportunities developing.

Every student involved in the programme has been selected by their school because they have the potential to do well in their SATs, GCSEs and beyond. Creating a ‘can do’ attitude to learning and boosting students’ confidence in and out of the classroom is central to this project.
