How to Apply to Summer School?

Unfortunately, not all students are able to apply for Summer Schools. Students must be eligible to apply on the Summer Schools.

In summary, only students capable of achieving at least the minimum entry qualification for HE but who, without the intervention of a Summer School, are judged unlikely to progress to higher education, should apply. (These 'barriers' to progression may be economic, social, cultural or educational). The completed application needs to demonstrate clearly that, without attending a Summer School, the student is unlikely to progress to HE. For more details on who can apply, please follow the link to the Summer School Guidance Notes for Teachers and Tutors.

For further information on the Summer Schools and how to apply, please speak to your Head of Year at School. Alternatively, visit the East Midlands Summer School pages, which details the Year 11 and Year 12 Summer School prospectus, as well as having Q&A for both parents, teachers and students.
